crashing

4/12/2010

The universe has turned upside down. I am trying to revive my netbook. It has my novel on it. From what I gather, the hard drive is full and the computer will not boot up and risk crashing Windows. I noticed it slowing down last week, but I certainly wasn't prepared for it to quit on me without some sort of neon warning.

This only confirms the general malaise I had been feeling towards my lagging progress on the novel these days. Now I can no longer sit staring at the screen, barely typing, on the subway ride to work. I can only stare out the window and occasionally scribble in my composition book--whose pages are also almost completely full.

I am not good with transitions. I do not want to start another composition book. I do not want to buy a new netbook.

I wish for endless gigabytes and blank sheets on which to write myself.
